In each of these harbours a stepgauge installation is becoming operational in February 2011. The stepgauges are dedicated to measure both tide and waves. As a specific feature Etrometa also deliver their processing and presentation software WTWAS. Using a common internet browser, this will enable both local authorities as well as other interested parties to monitor all relevant hydrographic data recorded with the stepgauge. The Moroccan Atlantic coast is frequently hit by ocean swells coming from westerly and northwesterly direction. The WTWAS software detects the associated low frequent parts from the wavesprectrum, up to wave periods of 33 seconds.
